Laurie Kretz is the Director of Perry Highway Lutheran Pre-Kindergarten. Miss Laurie has a B.S. degree in Psychology and an Elementary Education teaching certificate from Carlow University. Laurie has postgraduate credits in Education from Penn State University. She also holds an Early Childhood Directors Certificate. Before joining Perry Highway Lutheran Pre-K, Laurie was a preschool director at a local Methodist preschool.
Elaine Roller is the Lead Teacher for the 4/5 Pre-Kindergarten class. This will be Mrs. Roller’s 9th year at PHL Pre-K. She started as an Assistant Teacher in the Pre-K classroom and moved into the Lead Teacher position. Elaine is married with two teenage daughters and their yellow lab, Sadie. Elaine received her degree in Elementary Education from IUP. Elaine is also the Director of Family Ministries in the church as well as a member of the church choir. During her free time Elaine enjoys knitting, crocheting and spending time with her family.
Ashley Sechler is the Teacher of the 3-Year-Old class, the Lead for Child Enrichment, and a part-time Assistant Teacher in the Pre-Kindergarten classroom. This will be Miss Ashley’s third year teaching at Perry Highway Lutheran Preschool. She is also a nanny for a family with two children. She continues to nanny in the afternoons and evenings for the same family that she’s been with for over six years. Originally from North Carolina, she’s lived in Wexford for over 20 years. A graduate from North Allegheny High School, she has a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Slippery Rock University. In her free time, she enjoys watching the girls she nannies for in their many activities. When she can, Miss Ashley also enjoys visiting family back in North Carolina.
Michelle Sike is the Lead Teacher for the 3 year old class and teaches Child Enrichment. Mrs. Sike has a B.S. degree in Elementary Education from Indiana State University. Prior to joining PHLP, Mrs. Sike held positions as a 6th grade teacher and as a substitute teacher. Mrs. Sike has a 16-year-old daughter and a 12-year-old son and lives in Robinson Township. In her spare time, Mrs. Sike enjoys participating in 5k’s, volunteering at Angel Ridge Cat shelter, traveling to watch her son’s baseball team and shopping.
Larissa Kucyk is the Lead Teacher for the 2 ½ year old class. Mrs. Kucyk received her Bachelor of Science in Middle School Education from the University of Georgia. She is a recent transplant to the Pittsburgh area. Prior to her family’s move from Atlanta, Mrs. Kucyk taught for 16 years in the elementary and middle school settings. Mrs. Kucyk has 2 children and has been married for 11 years. Having lived in Georgia for most of her life, Mrs. K enjoys exploring the Pittsburgh area with her family. There is always somewhere new for them to visit! You can also find her at the ballpark watching her children play
t-ball and baseball. Some of her hobbies include reading, cooking, and walking the family’s dog, Jake.
Theresa Wilkinson is the Lead Teacher for the 2 ½ year old class and an Assistant Teacher for the 3 year old class. She recently moved here from Boston, MA and enjoys being part of helping children grow stronger in every way. Theresa has many years of experience teaching preschool students of all ages, and loves to focus on music and movement as fun and meaningful ways to learn. Miss Theresa earned her teaching certificate in Massachusetts, holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture and also is a certified Irish dance teacher & adjudicator. In her free time, Miss Theresa likes to spend time with her children, read and travel.
Tammy Jones is the Assistant Teacher in Miss Larissa’s 2 ½-year-old class and also assistant teacher in the 4/5 Pre-Kindergarten class. Miss Tammy is a graduate of Grove City College. She has spent the last 23 years raising her 4 children. During that time, Miss Tammy has been a substitute teacher at Eden Christian Academy. She ran a GROW Program at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church and started their Pioneer Program. She has lived in Pittsburgh, PA all her life. She and her husband met at Grove City College and have four amazing children. Needless to say, they keep Miss Tammy and her husband very busy and wouldn’t have it any other way. They also have a Goldendoodle named Maggie that is loved by everyone. Tammy loves to read books on her Kindle.
Heather Stelitano is the Assistant Teacher for the 2 1/2 year old and 3 year old class. Miss Heather has degrees in Psychology and Spanish from Edinboro University and a teaching certificate from Pitt. Prior to teaching at PHL Pre-K, she was a Spanish teacher. She lives in Shaler Twp. with her husband, Shawn, two children and their lovable Lab, Molly. When her children started school, she then taught Spanish at several after-school programs and preschools. Miss Heather enjoys spending time with family, baking, and reading.
Scott Spindler is the Music Teacher for all programs. Mr. Scott has a bachelor of science in music from California University of Pennsylvania. He also teachers private guitar lessons. Mr. Scott has taught at Brooklyn Music School, St. Sebastian Catholic School and lives in Pittsburgh.
Mary Kay Dinderman is an Office Assistant for the Pre-Kindergarten and occasionally helps in the classroom. Miss MaryKay is a graduate of the University of Minnesota. She lives in Gibsonia with her husband and three children and their Australian Shepherd named Sadie.
