Our Motto: “Let’s have fun!”
For many of our 2 1/2 year olds, this is the first time that they are away from their parents or caregivers. Our goal is to get the child comfortable with the classroom experience and taking directions from a teacher. We encourage them to have fun, and to learn responsibilities, such as clean up and taking turns.
Typical School Day:
The children are welcomed each day with open arms and lots of interesting things to do. For children who may be having a rough day, distraction is the key to getting everyone settled into our warm, loving and secure classroom. We begin the class with unstructured play including such things as the train table, the play kitchen, cars, blocks, dress up clothes, dolls and our ever-present play dough. After the children have settled in, we ring our bell for story time. Everyone sits on the carpet. We read the book, share our thoughts and ideas about the story, and encourage our students to do likewise. We then move to the craft table to complete the craft of the day. Craft time is followed by gathering in a circle on the carpet to sing songs and prepare everyone for clean up with our clean-up song. After the room is tidy, we sit at the table, wash our hands, give thanks to God and share a snack and fellowship. We conclude our day with a ball game, coats, and then returning our children to their parents. Ahhh, what fun!
